Jamie Kennedy Kitchens. The foundation of my embrace of the 'locavore' movement.

Fifth Town Dairy. An example of money well spent? This eastern Ontario gem is producing delicious cheeses less than two years into production at their beautiful Platinum LEED certified facility in Prince Edward County.

Monforte Dairy. Spearheading its rennaissance with a unique community-supported business model, Ruth Klahsen's Monforte is Stratford's delicious little dairy that could. Delicious sheep and goat milk cheeses of various styles. Follow the renewal on their blog.

The Stop. Wychwood Barns, a thriving redevelopment project that's arrived not without controversy.

The Brickworks. Another pillar in Toronto's rejuvenated local food scene, this project in metaphorphasis has already proven its worth in flourishing markets where farmers and producers can connect with the public and chefs. In the years to come I will be fascinated to see how the site's unparalleled access to one of the city's busiest highways will mesh with the hope visitors arrive by bus, bike or on foot.

Foodshare. Active, vital and engaged, this west-end institution does so much for local food communities. From the Good Food Box, to the community kitchen, to teaching students the value of preparing and serving good food - I just love what this organization is all about.
