About Your Local Chef

Your Local Chef was founded by Kieron Lang, a busy dad with a very busy family.

Born in Edinburgh Scotland, he settled in Toronto as a child and has considered the city home ever since. Trained at George Brown Culinary School, Kieron fed his passion for local and sustainable food as an apprentice in the kitchens of celebrated chef Jamie Kennedy. Kieron is now an interprovincially-certified Red Seal Chef and is certified as a Safe Food Handler by the City of Toronto.

As much as he loves great food, Kieron is committed to serving the needs of his customers. That means standing behind a guarantee of quality, committment to the highest standards of food safety, and promise to always put your interests first.



As a business, Your Local Chef is built on several fundamental ideas:
  • that local food eaten in season not only tastes better, but is more nutritious and better for the community too
  • that busy people want more than a “meal solution” engineered and processed with ingredients of unknown provenance
  • that freshly-prepared, local, seasonal food can be convenient too
